Physical Treatment of the Neurological Patient: An Impairment Based Approach for Occupational and Physical Therapists

Course Description:

This two-day seminar is designed for occupational and physiotherapists working with patients who have functional limitations from neurological impairments. This course is designed to introduce the components of treatment required to appropriately address the physical needs of patients with neurological impairments including stroke, brain and spinal cord injuries. The primary goal of this course is to provide a conceptual foundation onto which further education and experience can be built.

The seminar will incorporate hands-on practice with other participants to further integrate theory and skills learned during the two days of instruction.

Patient scenario/ problem solving lab


Developing Theories of Abnormal Movements and addressing the issues with application of techniques discussed over the weekend
